She may have been an only child. Statira married Reuben Root 22 Dec 1824. Together they had eight children. Around 1830, Statria and Reuben moved the family to Portage Ohio, where the last four of their children were born.

Miles Oakley
Miles was born 7 Apr 1757, in Fairfield County, British America to Jeremiah and Sarah (Burr) Oakley. Miles was my Revolutionary War Patriot. He had quite an experience during the war. He enlisted, and reenlisted a few times, was held prisoner in an ice house in New York after being captured trying to get back to his unit coming back from leave. He was discharged by General George Washington.
UPDATED
Finally! After working on my DAR (Daughter's of the American Revolution) application for over a year with the local DAR Registrar, my application was finally accepted by the National DAR and I am officially a member. Miles Oakley (above) is my patriot ancestor and my eligibility descends through Hawley Oakley, Statria Oakley, Lucinda Root, Fredrick Stanley,Marideth Stanley (my grandmother), and then my father. I will be formally accepted into the local chapter next month. It has been a real challenge! It was my great-grandparents generation that was the challenge. You would have thought the earlier generations would have been the most difficult!
